Arab Police and Cullman County Sheriff’s Investigators remain on the scene of a residence in the New Harmony Community just south of Arab where two people were found dead and another was seriously injured.

On August 15, 2020, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a call was transferred to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) from Blount County 911 with regards to a possible shooting in the New Canaan community.
CCSO Deputies arrived at the residence along with officers from Arab Police Department. Deputies and officers discovered two individuals that were deceased and another seriously injured at a location in Cullman County.
Through the investigation it was determined there was an alteration in which firearms were discharged, which resulted in two individuals being deceased and another being seriously injured. The third individual is in a regional hospital.
“ Investigators and deputies are actively working this case. We ask for prayers for the families and all involved. We will keep the public informed as more information develops”, Sheriff Matt Gentry said.
This is still a ongoing investigation and details are limited.
