Two men are dead following a shooting in Somerville and a car chase that ended in Arab Tuesday morning.
According to Morgan County Sheriff Ron Puckett, a Hartselle man died after being shot at a residence in Somerville and the suspect, a Somerville resident, shot himself in Arab later in the morning.
Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn said Henry “Hank” Laverne Schoonmaker, 43, of Hartselle, is the man who died in the Somerville residence.
Carl Obrin English, 43, of Somerville is the man who shot himself in Arab and later died at Marshall Medical Center North.
Morgan County deputies responded to a shooting at a residence on Robin Private Drive in Somerville. They found Schoonmaker there with gunshot wounds. EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures on him, but he did not survive, Puckett said.
