Twin Lakes is Business of the Year

Twin Lakes Golf Course was named the Arab Chamber of Commerce 2022 Business of the Year at last week’s annual chamber banquet.

Josh Chastain presented the award to his parents – David and Shirley Chastain – who own Twin Lakes.

The following is the (edited) text of Josh’s speech at the banquet:

They had help from family, friends and the Twin Lakes neighborhood. The volunteers would work during the day cleaning up the course while David and Shirley continued working day shift at their current jobs and night shift at Twin Lakes.

Shirley later retired and does everything from running the clubhouse to mowing.

She also makes a great “Shirley Dog” for hungry golfers.

David is that guy who can fix anything that breaks.

If you work with David and Shirley, you are family.

He started in the golf industry 30 years ago, has worked several courses but Twin Lakes was always home to him.

When the opportunity came to purchase the course in 2016, it wasn’t a quick decision.
