Arab High School senior Ian Davis got his reply this week.

Davis had requested that he be allowed to lead a prayer over the PA system at Friday night’s Arab High School football game.

In a letter, Arab Superintendent John Mullins told Davis he could not.

Mullins cited Santa Fe Independent School District vs. Doe as the reason for the denial. The case, from 2000, is where the U.S. Supreme Court banned pre-game prayers at public schools.
