Brian Quillin has decided to step down as the director of Arab Musical Theatre.

Arab Superintendent John Mullins made the announcement the recent board of education meeting.

Quillin will stay on as director until after AMT’s presentation of “Xanadu” at the International Thespian Festival later this summer.

“It was his choice, but this will be the end of Brian’s leadership at AMT,” Mullins said. “After 25 years he is looking for a new challenge.”

Quillin was approved as the school system’s technology coordinator, a role he has served in on an interim basis since last August.

The Tribune is planning more on this story in a future edition.

In other personnel matters at the meeting, the BOE hired a head volleyball coach.

Jamiee Moran was hired as a physical education teacher and head volleyball coach at Arab High School. She most recently was a JV coach at James Clemens High School and was an assistant at Wallace State for two years.
