Arab police make arrests

One man is charged with drug trafficking and another with shooting into an occupied dwelling following a brief stand off Thursday afternoon at Brandywine Apartments in Arab.

No one was injured in the shooting, but officers used tear gas to clear the apartment.

Assisting Arab police were officers from Guntersville police, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Marshall County Drug Unit.

Joel Lee Brown, 39, of Point of Pines near Warrenton is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of prescription drugs, both misdemeanors, possession of crystal meth and drug trafficking, both felonies.

Gregory Wayne Hargrove, 56, of Third Street SE (Brandywine) is charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, a felony.
