A new multi-purpose building for the 21 acres of city property on U.S. 231 is getting a very serious look at Arab City Hall, but no official action has been taken.

“We’ve already looked into a floor plan on what we would need to incorporate into the facility,” Mayor Joslin told the Arab City Council Monday night.

He said the structure being studied now is about 300 feet long and 200 feet wide.

“It’s basically the size of a football field with a roof,” he said.

Joslin said among other things, the facility could attract large basketball and volleyball tournaments as it is being configured for various sports options including lacrosse.
