Sara Franco Tapia, 32, has been charged with three counts of capital murder in the deaths of her two young children in Baileyton Oct. 12.
The third capital murder charge is under a law that takes into account aggravating circumstances in the commission of a homicide, including killing “two or more persons…by one act or pursuant to one scheme or course of conduct.”
The Cullman County District Attorney’s Office says Tapia killed her sons – Alvaro Garcia, 3, and Taylor Garcia, 9. The DA’s office said she killed the boys “by strangling and/or cutting their throats.”
