The 15-year-old girl reported missing from Arab last week was found in Newtown, Conn., Monday morning.

Lilly Chapman was reported missing by her family last week. She was last seen last Wednesday morning. Though APD was actively looking for her, the case was classified as a run-away.

Arab police was notified Monday morning that Newtown Police Department had custody of Chapman after she was reported spotted there over the weekend.

It wasn’t clear how she got to Newtown.

When she was reported missing, family members believed she might be in the Birmingham area, according to Arab police.

Newtown police posted on its Facebook page over the weekend asking the public’s assistance in locating Chapman after she was spotted in town.
