Retired Arab firefighter and businessman Keith Meade is running for Arab City Council, Place 1.

The seat is currently held by Johnny Hart, who also is running. Stacy Lee George is also running for the seat (please see other story).

The Arab municipal election is Tuesday, Aug. 25.

“I care deeply about the city of Arab and its future,” Meade said. “This is where I met my wife of 35 years, raised three children and served 30 years as a firefighter for the city – both as a volunteer and then as a full-time firefighter.”

Meade retired as a captain from Arab Fire and Rescue in 2016.

He said his campaign platform is three fold.
