Arab’s COVID-19 numbers increased dramatically in one week.

Arab Mayor Bob Joslin said Monday that the city’s numbers increased by 61 new cases in seven days.

As of Monday, Arab has had 187 positive cases since March, with a third of those coming in one week, from July 20 until July 27.

Also, as of Wednesday, there were 10 COVID-19 patients at Marshall Medical Center North and 14 at Marshall Medical Center South.

“This is serious, folks,” Joslin said. “We need to be more pro-active in following the guidelines so that we can drastically reduce this number.”
