Arab police shot a man Saturday after shot at them.
The call came in about 9 p.m. as a man threatening suicide, according to Arab Police Chief Shane Washburn.
Christopher Adam Cox, 42, of Grace Avenue is charged with two counts of the attempted murder of a police officer.
“We were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Grace Avenue for a possible suicidal male,” Washburn said. “When our officers arrived, they found Mr. Cox in the yard with a gun. The officers began talking to him, trying to get him to put the gun down and during that time, Mr. Cox pointed his gun at the officers and fired.
“Our officers returned fire and Mr. Cox was shot in the leg,” Washburn continued.
Neither of the Arab officers was injured.
