Mayor Bob Joslin reported to the Arab City Council recently that he and economic development coordinator Melissa Cook had attended an economic development conference at Progress Rail.
“We learned a lot of good information,” he said.
Joslin said with new jobs coming to Huntsville with Mazda-Toyota, “(Arab is) in a sweet spot.”
The new plant, that will be built in Limestone County, is expected to eventually create up to 4,000 new jobs. The hiring process for the $1.6 billion dollar manufacturing plant will begin this fall with vehicle production expected to begin in 2021.
