Arab Economic Development Coordinator Melissa Cook told the Arab City Council that a consultant is conducting a motel feasibility study for the city, considered an almost necessary requirement in attracting a new business.

Cook said at Tuesday’s council meeting the study will determine how many rooms Arab can support and what chains would best suit the area.

“The results should back around the first of October,” she said.

Cook also said that she and Mayor Bob Joslin recently met with representatives from Arab City Schools and Skipper Consulting about a possible connector road from 12th Avenue to Arab Primary School on property that was donated to the city by former resident Sandra Putnam of Dallas.
