Arab City Schools has a new athletics director and Arab Junior High School has new band directors.

The Arab Board of Education this week approved the transfer of Kevin Collins from athletics director to athletic compliance officer.

The new athletic director is AHS head football coach Lee Ozmint.

“Kevin will make sure we are in compliance with AHSAA rules and player eligibility but will also be responsible for the procurement of officials and other duties,” said Arab Superintendent John Mullins.

The board also approved transfers of both Kirk Finley and Ronnie Griffin from instructional assistant to instructional assistant/band teacher.

“They will continue to be assistants for Mr. (Ty) Parker at the high school and will receive their teacher pay at the junior high,” said Superintendent John Mullins.

He explained that Finley and Griffin will teach two classes each at the junior high each day.
