With crowded halls and classrooms, schools are often the hardest hit during flu season since the contagious disease can easily spread among students.

According to Marshall County Schools Superintendent Dr. Cindy Wigley, the school system has recorded 349 total cases of students with the flu so far this season.

DAR Schools had the most at 157 students, Asbury reported 70 and Brindlee Mountain schools reported 22.

Arab Superintendent Dr. Johnny Berry said Monday the system hasn’t seen too many cases of the flu.
