First Marshall County baby of 2020 arrives at 4:03 a.m.

Marshall County’s first baby of 2020 was born at Marshall Medical Center North on Jan. 1 at 4:03 a.m. Ariel Ivan Machuca weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. His mother, Sandra Lemus, and father, Ivan Machuca, both of Albertville, were very excited about having a New Year’s baby. Ariel, however, was able to sleep soundly following his historic arrival. It was somewhat of a race to see which hospital would get to deliver the first 2020 baby. Marshall Medical South had one birth on New Year’s Eve and another at 1 a.m. on Jan. 2.
