There will be three board member elections on the ballot for the Arab Electric Cooperative’s annual meeting on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Arab High School auditorium.

The doors open at 8 a.m., and the meeting begins at 9 a.m.

Anyone who receives a utility bill from AEC can vote in person at the auditorium or by mail-in ballot. Those ballots should begin arriving in mailboxes within the next week or two.

There are no by-law amendments to be voted on by the members this year.

AEC general manager Scott Spence announced last week he is leaving AEC on Aug. 16 to become CEO of Duck River electric cooperative in Tennessee.

With Spence’s absence, AEC board attorney Clint Maze and AEC board president Ty Smith plan to preside at the meeting.
