The Marshall County Democratic Executive Committee opened candidate qualifying for the 2022 election cycle Monday, Dec. 6, in coordination with the Alabama Democratic Party.

Candidates must qualify through the county committee and can request a packet from Executive Chair Susan McKenney by phone: 256-558-1927, or e-mail: susanmc@charter.net.

Candidate positions are sheriff, coroner, superintendent, county school board members for Districts 1 and 4, county commission chairman, and county commissioners for Districts 1 and 4.

State level candidates for Senate District 9, House Districts 26 and 27, and others must qualify through the state party either in-person at the Alabama Democratic Party headquarters in Montgomery or online at aldemocrats.org.

Instructions for how to complete the process will be found on the ADP website at the opening of qualifying.

Democratic candidate qualifying for both the county and state will close on Friday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m.
