In the only actual business of the evening Monday, the Arab City Council approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Bob Joslin to submit an ATRIP (Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program) grant to replace or improve the traffic lights at all seven intersections in the city limits on U.S. 231.

But, it’s only an application and it could be some time before you see any work being done.

“It’s my understanding that it will be January or February before we know if we’re approved,” Joslin said.
