The number 7 story of 2020 was actually a two-part story. One part was a tornado and the other part was the school it impacted.

The number 7 story was the closing of Brindlee Mountain Primary School at Union Grove and that the Marshall County Board of Education gave the school property to the town of Union Grove.

The school was hit by an EF1 tornado in January. The school took a direct hit. Luckily, it was on a Saturday and school wasn’t in session, otherwise there could have been countless injuries.

At first, county officials said the school would be rebuilt.

The students there would be sent to the former Brindlee Mountain Middle School on the Brindlee Mountain High School campus until it could be rebuilt.
