August was a banner month for birthing babies in Marshall County.
Marshall South’s Labor & Delivery department delivered 95 babies with August birthdays, including two sets of twins.
L&D nurse manager Leanna Dilbeck said it was a hectic time on the floor.
Two of her nurses were moms of a couple of those infants arriving at Marshall Medical South, leaving the staff stretched to cover the baby boom.
“So, not only were we crazy busy, I was down two nurses,” she laughed. “The finance center called me and wanted to know if I could explain why I had so much call back time for my department during the month of August.”
