Four students from Arab High School will compete in the 2021 U.S. Armey JROTC Academic Bowl later this month in Washington, D.C.

Merik Moss, Rory Irvin, Jason Watts and Meadow McDonald will make the trip.

Moss is a senior and the grandchild of Wilma Bowman.

Irvin is a senior and the child of Jimmy and Erica Morgan.

Watts is a senior and the son of Dr. Jason and Marilyn Watts.

McDonald is a junior and the daughter of Mardy and Brandi McDonald.

They are members of Arab High School’s JROTC’s (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) academic team.

The Academic Bowl is similar to Quiz Bowl.

After advancing through two phases of online competition, the AHS team advanced to the competition, which will be held on the campus of The Catholic University of America, July 23-27. This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and is conducted by the College Options Foundation.
