The board approved disciplinary action of an Arab High School employee at the meeting.

The board agreed to suspend the teacher without pay due to a classroom incident that occurred on April 5.

Because the discipline involved the good name and character of an employee, the teacher’s name was not released.

However, Clint Maze, the attorney for the Arab Board of Education, stated that “the teacher’s suspension was the result of inadequate supervision of students in the classroom and for unprofessional and inappropriate classroom behavior.”

The suspension started Monday, April 18, and the teacher will return to work on April 25.

Children who have a class with this teacher were asked by others why they "didn't speak up sooner." They did! Someone went to admin almost weekly with their concerns. I emailed admin with my concerns. I just want to know why it took this long to do anything about it, and why this teacher is being allowed to return. I hope this teacher will be gone next year, because I do not want my son to be in their classroom!
