February is the month of love. I think it’s only fair that I write about love considering Valentine’s Day is tomorrow.

There are many things I love. To start off with: I love Steve Rutherford. I’ve loved him for 27 years now, unless you count the years that I “worshiped him from afar” when he was the drum major and a senior at Arab High School and I was a lowly eighth grader.

I love my daughter, now Hannah-Rose Rutherford Vines. I couldn’t have asked for a better gift: my daughter. We’ve always been very close and I love that.

I love my son-in-law, Walker Vines. He’s like a son to Steve and I, and we couldn’t be more thankful. When someone genuinely loves your child, the feeling that you have for them is something that can’t be measured.

I love my grandson. Absolute perfection he is. What more can I say about that precious little boy? Perfection. Absolute.

I love my brother and sister. They’re all I have left of my family since our parents died. They both have their own lives and I don’t see them as much as I’d like to, but I know they’re there if I need them and they know the same of me.
