God honors our attempts to be near to Him, so don’t fail

When I was a young boy – in my pre-teens – Charles Atlas was one of the most well-known men in the world as he jumped out from the back of every comic book printed in America, wearing his leopard skin briefs and flexing his muscles and promised to convert any and every 97-pound weakling into a walking Adonis!

The key, he said, was doing a series of “dynamic tension” exercises.

And as one who was tall and rangy (some would call it “skinny”), I wanted to develop that physique, so, I ordered the course and checked the mail each day to receive my course from Mr. Atlas.

The day finally arrived when a manila envelope from New York City came and enclosed was my multi-month program. I began immediately and watched with anticipation for the muscles to begin bulging.
