In addition to my duties here at the Tribune, I’m also the president of the Arab Electric Cooperative board of trustees. Recently, we finished a year in which the former general manager left and the board had the task of hiring a new one.

AEC also went through a few other changes in that year and did some good things.

In case you missed it in Alabama Living, the following is an open letter I wrote to the board…

Board,

One year ago today, our former GM left to take another job.

It was a turbulent time to say the least.

I’m not sure anyone on the board at that time could have predicted what was going to happen to AEC – especially with regard to the board, itself.

However, looking back today, I am amazed at the things we’ve gotten done together as a team.

Of course, we could not have done it without the cooperation, hard work and dedication of the AEC employees, whom I believe now, feel like they are part of the team. They could not say that a year ago.
